Who we are.
Formula SAE Electric at Cal Poly Pomona is a multidisciplinary team of engineers and businesspeople that strives to build an all-electric open-wheel vehicle to compete various races and tests to push ourselves and the car to the limit. Our mission is to work collaboratively as a team to design and manufacture this vehicle with the goal of competing in the Formula SAE series. We showcase the capabilities of CPP students and provide the opportunity to truly Learn by Doing.

We design and build a high-performance race vehicle from the ground up every year within a set of requirements, cost and schedule constraints, while providing students the opportunity to apply their skills, be inventive in their engineering, and impactful through their design and application.

We explore unique concepts through research and hands-on learning and application while fostering growth and continual improvement that is sustainable through student engagement.
We are a student serving organization that puts emphasis on providing students with an opportunity to learn, turning no one away. Our team understands the importance of inclusivity and the learning experience members get from being able to participate in a project like Formula SAE Electric.
